I don't have an unhealthy level of credit card debt but it was a monthly payment none-the-less. Due to the current financial crisis (and no fault of my own), when I received a letter from my credit card company indicating that my interest rate was going to go up by 7%, that was the incentive I needed to pay one off. I got my holiday bonus and did just that.
